Southern Technical College Commemorates Largest Statewide Graduation Ceremony

Orlando, FL – (Oct. 15, 2015) – Orlando-based Southern Technical College, “Southern Tech,” proudly hosted the largest statewide graduation ceremony in its history.

In total, more than 500 of 1,123 graduates walked during the celebratory graduation held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

The event drew approximately 2,500 family, friends and supporters, who cheered on the career college graduates. Degrees and training included areas of study in: allied health, business, design, education, information technology, legal studies, nursing and technical trades.

All Southern Tech campuses were represented at the ceremony: Auburndale, Bonita Springs, Brandon, Fort Myers, Mount Dora, Orlando, Port Charlotte, Sanford and Tampa as well as graduates who took classes online.

“The jubilant ceremony was an incredible milestone for Southern Tech because it was our largest to date,” said Andrea Mitchell, regional director of career services. “We wish our graduates well as they begin their careers and contribute to Florida’s workforce in so many pivotal roles.”
